THE PROMISE
A bud is a promise of things yet to be,
And thus like a child's creativity,
We must tend it, nourish it and guard it with care
Until it blooms forth a flower so rare!

Philosophy

The curriculum is designed to help each child grow to his/her potential within an atmosphere which nurtures positive self image and social skills in a non-biased environment. Qualified teachers are guides who motivate the children. Provision is made for each child to experience literature, science, creative art, music, language and physical activity within a structured and unstructured schedule using developmentally appropriate practices and materials. Children are encouraged to experience their world, to grow and to develop independence.

Children of all racial, religious and ethnic backgrounds are welcome. The school begins with two year olds through Kindergarten, for both full time and part time classes. The Kindergarten program emphasizes academics and individual attention to attain personal goals as well as the main goals of the school.

Registration

Regular classes begin in September and end in mid-June. A non-refundable pre-registration fee and June's tuition is required at the time of registration.

Summer pre-school classes are available for registration beginning in April. Three three-week sessions begin the last week of June.

Child Care classes begin in September and continue through August. Full days are available for one to five days per week.

History

Community Pre-School was started in 1968 and is sponsored by the Congregational Community Church. The school grew out of a desire by the congregation to provide a loving and caring environment for children. We are proud of the growth the school has attained, as it shows that the goal of providing a learning, stimulating and self developing concept has succeeded. With the qualifications and enthusiasm of staff members, the school will continue to grow in quality.
